Daffodil Bulbs

Daffodils are more than the bright yellow trumpet flowers that you are likely familiar with. Often scented, these spring flowers come in a wide variety of shapes and colors- with many of them being double-petaled, frilly, and romantic. They are also called ‘Narcissus’ (after their plant genus classification) and are one flower that deer avoid. Add some of each variety to your yard or garden as they come back every year (zones 4-8). And after a few years, you can divide your clumps to spread around your yard.

Tulip Bulbs

Tulips have quickly become my favorite spring flower. Like daffodils, the most common tulips are not the showstoppers. Instead, it is the double-petaled, peony-style tulips with the dreamy colors that make people swoon. In fact, when polled on our Instagram, most people could not tell the difference between a double-petaled tulip and a rose or a peony. While you are welcome to try perennializing these bulbs, it is recommended to treat them as annuals and plant them every fall.
